Friends,
We ran an amazing campaign, and though it wasn’t the result we wanted,
hard work deserves recognition. I spoke with John Lombardi earlier to
congratulate him on the victory. I believe that going forward we will
all work together for a better Olneyville, Federal Hill, and Valley.
You all, my supporters, are generous, tenacious people. We do what we
do because we believe that elections matter, that a more fair and
beautiful world is possible, and we are willing to invest our lives
into making that world a reality. I cannot thank you enough for all
that you've committed to this campaign, and moving Rhode Island
forward.

Pundits laud our "high-energy campaign"
WPRI's Ted Nesi writes:
House 8 (D-Providence): Bizarrely, there’s widespread agreement that incumbent Rep. Mike Tarro will play the role of a spoiler in his own reelection race – the question is whether he takes more votes from Providence political fixture John Lombardi or young progressive newcomer Libby Kimzey. Lombardi starts with a cushion of support on Federal Hill, but Kimzey’s high-energy campaign has made few mistakes. Tarro has ramped up his own campaigning in recent days, but most see this as a fight between historic Providence (Lombardi) and emerging Providence (Kimzey). Indeed, Kimzey’s coalition is described as the same one that elected Angel Taveras – “Latinos and hipsters.”

Libby shows strength and thoughtfulness in two candidate forums
Libby Kimzey energized the crowd at this week's West Broadway Neighborhood Association Candidate Forum and Olneyville Unidos Candidate Forum. Libby made it clear that she is the best candidate for our local economy, and a proud supporter of marriage equality, public transit, and fair taxes. Thank you everyone for making it to the events!
