We support our friend Libby because she understands the connections between the pivotal issues facing Providence today. We and our neighbors need a strong partner in the State House as we work to pay for education, gain affordable health coverage, and plan for a financially sustainable future.  Libby has the experience and drive to fight for quality jobs, fair taxes, transparent government, and strong public schools.  Read more...

Libby’s campaign to be the next State Representative for District 8 (Federal Hill, Olneyville and Valley) is off to an amazing start! She has met with dozens of community leaders and residents, spoken before several neighborhood groups, and raised over $15,000 in less than three months.

From her work in the city and through her previous jobs, Libby has seen how important these issues are to the community.  As Director of Programs at the Capital Good Fund, Libby works with low-income families and Rhode Island small businesses to foster growth and stability. She is also deeply involved in our local community, participating with organizations including the West Broadway Neighborhood Association, Building Futures, and the Rhode Island Foster Parent Association.  Although a first time candidate, Libby is not new to the State House.  Over many years, she has been a compelling voice for issues including public transportation, fair taxes and electoral reform, working with groups as diverse as Common Cause and Ocean State Action.

Above all, we support our friend Libby because we know she is the kind of leader we need at the State House.  We are confident that she will be a strong advocate for our community. Please join us at the Cuban Revolution Restaurant on 60 Valley St., Monday 26th to support the candidate our district deserves!
